Monitoring changes to switch configuration files in the new version of 10-Strike Network Monitor Pro 8.2
We have released the version 8.2 of 10-Strike Network Monitor Pro, a program for monitoring various network equipment. It introduces an important feature for monitoring changes and viewing the managed switch configurations. This feature helps you quickly respond to even the slightest changes in your network, even if they may not be immediately noticeable.
We’ve also improved the user rights management mechanism and added a lot of useful features.
Now, a little more detail on the most important features.
Monitoring Switch Configuration Changes
In any corporate network, switches are more than just “boxes with ports.” They are critical nodes that determine the topology, security, performance, and availability of the entire infrastructure. Their configurations constitute the precise “genome” of the network: VLANs, ACLs, ports, STP, QoS, trunk settings, inter-VLAN routing, and much more.
But what happens when one of these settings changes accidentally, by mistake, or due to malicious activity? One incorrect command entry can disable an entire department, disrupt VoIP, break tunnels, or create an attack vulnerability. That’s why monitoring switch configuration changes and systematically backing up the startup-config, running-config, and vlan.dat files is not an optional practice, but a mandatory requirement for a reliable IT operating environment.
We’ve added new functionality that allows you to retrieve configuration files and compare them with the previous state, notifying you of changes in several ways, including Telegram and Slack.
This new feature allows you to create automatic backups of configurations stored in multiple locations. In the event of a disaster, you only need to retrieve the latest reference configuration and upload it to the device.

SSH Accounts
We’ve added a list of SSH accounts so you can create a user once and use their credentials wherever needed.

You can add accounts in the program settings, in the new SSH section.
Monitoring the total number of failed checks
We’ve expanded the functionality of the “Summary Results” check, which can now evaluate the total number of failed checks in the monitoring database. We’ve added a “Notify if more than N checks fail” rule. This allows you to monitor the total number of failed checks and alert you if they exceed a specified value. For example, one or two failed pings isn’t necessarily a critical situation. However, if more than half of the hosts are down, then it’s time to intervene.
All changes in version 8.2 listed:
- Pro: Added new functionality for monitoring and viewing switch configurations.
- Pro: Added the ability to disable automatic user login to the console and displaying the login and password prompt each time it starts.
- Pro: Added the “Always enabled, do not check” checkbox to the host settings, which switches the icon display on the map to “Enabled” regardless of the check results.
- Pro: Completely prohibits the map changes in the “Operator” mode.
- Added the ability to maintain a list of SSH accounts and quickly substitute them in checks.
- Added the Encryption Key parameter to the IPMI check.
- Added a setting to disable the display of the on-screen messages.

- Improved the “Merge check results” check. Added the “Notify if more than N checks fail” rule.
- The program notifies if the SNMP trap or the syslog monitoring cannot be started.
- Pro: Information exchange between the console and the monitoring service is no longer available via TCP. It is now available only through the database.
- The mechanism for generating and sending scheduled reports has been optimized.
- The function for obtaining the ARP table and determining IP by MAC has been fixed.
- Pro: If the card name contained the / or \ characters, the card was not exported to LANState. Fixed.
