Not sure the BM program will do what I need it to do

I'd like to install some software on an older 2003 server and monitor all unique IP addresses that access that server.  Be even better if I could tell if they were using IP vs FQDN.

We're in the process of moving an older DB server to a new VM, but want to make sure we know what is pointing to it so we can be ready or make the changes needed.

This can be done with 10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor.

You will need to install the program with the Agent service (+WinPcap driver included) locally on that server and create a traffic sensor of the "sniffing packets" type. The sniffer will collect IP addresses of connecting hosts and you will be able to create a report on these addresses.
