NetBios Monitoring

The program allows you to monitor the NetBios service and monitor MAC address changes using the NetBios protocol.

The NetBIOS protocol is necessary for establishing the interaction between computers in a local-area network. Windows services that are in charge of establishing a link between computers for exchanging data through shared folders (the SMB protocol), access to remote registry and other features use this protocol. One of the ways to check the state of the services providing for the operation of this protocol is attempting to resolve the host's MAC address by its specified IP address, by addressing to the NetBIOS service of the host to be checked. If the MAC address can be resolved, and it is equal to the specified one, the check is considered passed.

This NetBios monitoring check can be used for MAC address change monitoring. The program will prompt you if the specified MAC address is changed.

The ARP monitoring check can also be used for MAC address monitoring.
